Cruise Ships in Review

The Journey and Azamara Quest make the brand of ships within the Royal Caribbean and Celebrity lines. They are upscale, but reasonably priced and geared to the older, active but well-traveled passenger. They compete primarily Oceana Cruises and both are set as "deluxe" cruise lines charge. Azamara differs in longer visits and overnight stays to include more unique and the most popular destinations.

Recently, we have sailedAzamara Journey to the Western Caribbean
fff
. As we made our way through the very well organized and unusually relaxed embarkation Here we were greeted with a smile and Champaign and immediately noticed what makes this ship special.

It begins with a boutique-like ambience of European hotel. The intimate scale of the ship is, you never wait long for an elevator, easy to walk from bow to stern in just a few minutes, never lost, nor is there much to see and do.

shipping companies that service efficiently and personally. Even the captain was always visible and very sociable and always stopped to sayhello could be and often eat lunch or dinner with passengers.

Many shipping companies compete on the quality of their food. We found the food prepared on the journey particularly tasty, varied and good. The Main Dining Room discoveries has open seating (sit anywhere, anytime and with any) but they will also place you with others if you like. The good thing is that there are "casual elegance", which is becoming increasingly popular, and they stress, NO smoking, becauseThere are no formal nights. For those intimate special occasions, they offer two specialty restaurants Prime C and Aqualina for a service fee of $ 15 per person. This fee is waived for certain categories of passengers in cabins. Prime C is an investment house and Aqualina serves Mediterranean fusion. We have tried these two, and although the ambience was good, the food was a little too long in coming. Prime C in the appetizers were creatively presented, but had some strangeFlavors.

One of our favorite devices is that the wine at lunch and dinner in all eating places made available. We were surprised at how good the wines were surprised. They informed us that she personally selected areas of specialty chemicals by the shipping company president himself. In addition, soft drinks, bottled water and specialty coffees are on the ship at all times not only removes the feeling, provided Nickel and Dimed, but also eliminates the inconvenience associated withdrink to that sticker or sign for every little thing. The Windows-cafe in the back of the ship is a constant buffet with different theme nights throughout the cruise. Their sushi and Mediterranean night night was particularly fun. In comparison to other ships, we found it very refreshing not to long lines at peak meal times and we could always have a table. They also host several deck parties, which were tastefully done and a lot of fun. The crew - including bridge officers- Also serving alternately or barbecue dinner for the passengers.

Although the trip was not a large multi-story theater and outdoor cinema screen, the entertainment is still very good. They have a cozy little place for their nightly shows with dancers, solo vocalists and instrumentalists as jugglers and comedians in a cabaret style that is personable and pleasant. The entertainers mingle with the passengers throughout the day, which we found really helpedmake the show more intimate and inclusive.

We stayed in an ocean view cabin, the average size, but certainly adequate for two adults. The bathroom was a bit small and we had no bathtub. However, we had plenty of closet and storage space and the bed was comfortable. Each cabin has a refrigerator with complimentary sodas and water pre-sorted. They also offer free self-service laundry.

The ship had a well-equipped spa complex, gym and fitnessPersonnel. We had no problem getting time on the
fff
Treadmill at peak times also.

Overall, the onboard atmosphere is very relaxing and friendly, comfortable with a kind of Country Club. We kept commenting that it felt more like a large yacht than a cruise ship. Although the casino is a little small, with only a few blackjack tables and only one roulette table, we are still to mix for a fun and lively place to socialize. Although children are allowed, there are noOnboard activities, or children's clubs, they are rare. In fact, our journey had only two children on board. One of the other attributes of the ship that we had enjoyed it, there was plenty of deck chairs, so that we do not have to get up to at dawn on the sea days to reserve only one as on other ships.
